STYGIOPHILIA = SEXUAL
ATTRACTION OF THE THOUGHT OF HELL
Some people may have heard
about "Stygiophobia" - the fear of going to hell. However, there's also an
opposite version of this, called "Stygiophilia" - sexual attraction
towards the thought of going to hell.

Stygiophilia is rarely
discussed, and I have failed to find any good articles about the subject.
Now, once could always wonder what is so special with a fetish like this.
For many who are not religious, including me, devils and angels and "Hell"
is nothing but fairytales and myths. The common version of "Hell" is a
place where humans suffer, and it is not hard to understand why some
people (masochists, as an example) would find that very arousing.
There are also many other
"versions" of what "Hell" could be like. Taking Clive Barker's
"Hellraiser" as an example, it is just as much about pleasure as it is of
pain, and pleasure gained from pain, taking much inspiration from
sadomasochism.

Now, the "Hellraiser"
version of "Hell", or other versions where Hell is a very sexual place,
can easily be found quite erotic by many people (hell, even me! XD), as
the thought of being in a world where you will have to "undergo" all kinds
of sexual treatment can be quite a turn-on.
But it also seems many
stygiophiles base their arousal on the thoughts of committing "sins" or
feeling guilt, or being punished.
For some it is also the
sexual attraction towards Satan, or the "devil".
