For a couple of months, my fiancee Tom (aka Tomte) and I have been working on something that we’ve been keeping “off the radar” until now. You can see this on wildsidecomix.com, and our Patreon patreon.com/wildsidecomix! ^_^
It started a while back as I was creating a comic called “Darkheim”. I originally planned to have this comic on Ero-Mania…but after making over 10 pages of it without as much as a nipple being shown in it, I decided against it. Porn simply didn’t fit well into this story. It’s a dark fantasy/horror story, and I found myself struggling with how to implement the porn…sure, it would be possible, but it wouldn’t fit the story well, and it would take forever before I’d actually get to that part anyway. Thus, I decided I’d like to create this project as a free non-adult webcomic.
Then, somebody told me about “Patreon” and suggested I’d check it out. With several other projects in mind, I decided it could be fun to give it a try. I told Tom about the idea and suggested we’d do this together, and we quickly got the ball rollin’ ^_^. The Patreon will contain projects from us both, including some where we are collaborating (we also included our project “Sally The Ghost Hunter”).
I also had a hentai game project I mind…on April the 2nd I actually wrote a post about it on the Ero-Mania blog. I’ll just repeat some of what was written there:
Many years back (in 2009-2010), I had an idea for an on-going game project for Ero-Mania’s members area. What I had in mind was some kind of “pet” game, where you could collect several “pets” in an online game. The title for the project was “Virtual Sex Pets”. I worked on it for quite a while, made several graphics, including two “pets” I planned to use: an elf girl and a furry catgirl…
However, after working on this project until the end of 2010, I figured out that it just wasn’t…well…it just wasn’t something I think would be fun in the long run. After working on it for over a year I was already tired of it, and the thought of having an on-going project like this, that would need to be updated all the time with new items/pets/stuff…no way. I scrapped the entire project, and used some of the graphics in other games instead.
However, I still wanted to have a “big” game project…not something that would be forever updating, but something that would be so big that I couldn’t create it in a single update. I just didn’t know what kind of project this should be, and how to maintain the updates for it. After all, a huge game project like I had in mind would take a lot of time to finish…
In 2013, I finally got the idea of what I wanted to create: a game featuring monstergirls (and monsters) that the player could fight sexually (like in the “Witchcraft” games). I started working on some ideas, and I went away from the idea of an online game and decided it should be a regular downloadable one. But I struggled with a lot of thoughts…mainly how this would work out as an Ero-Mania project. I didn’t really feel that a huge unfinished project that would take several years to finish would suit Ero-Mania that well, since updates would probably sometimes be minor (a couple new animations, for example). There were also a couple things I feared: that a lot of paying members would be dissatisfied with “minor” updates each month…and that this would eventually cause me to get burned out and that I’d end up despising the project entirely. After doing the “Lost Hearts” series, and now recently the “Sperm Demoness” series, I’ve been receiving several complaints (not any rude ones, I’d just like to point that out) by members who tell me they’re not at all fond of any “to be continued” game series, and that they’d actually prefer short and finished games instead of games in parts. I can understand their point of view…and this is one of the main reasons why I’ve been so hesitant with adding a project like this on Ero-Mania. For this reason “Sperm Demoness” will also be the last game project I’ll release in parts.
I decided to take another approach: making it a free game, while trying out Patreon to see if there’s enough interest. The game is called “MONSTER LOVE HOTEL” ^_^
This game is the first RPG game I’ve made (not the first I’ve tried to make, but the first I’ve made enough progress with ^^;). In it, you play a guy and a girl: Erwan and Golda. While you sexually battle the monsters & monstergirls, there are also some other enemies that you fight “normally”, which will give you money and items. In order to give people a choice when it comes to sexual preferences, you can also choose how to play the sex battles: by playing both, or by only playing one of them (this can be nice for those who for example wants to avoid yaoi or yuri, or those who might want to only play yaoi or yuri ^^).
In the first demo, there’s only one monstergirl available: a catgirl. However, there’s 9 animations in total just for her ^_^

That’s a really great game, Vanja! I’m playing the demo, and I’m really liking it so far. Unfortunately, I cannot support the patreon right now since I’m not working atm, but if I can, I’ll try to give some support.
Just a minor complain: right now, the game is a little too… the regular battles overstay they welcome a little, you know? The battles against the goo drag themselves for a little and are a little boring since you don’t have much to do (so far) other than click attack, and the Furry Devil is, currently, kicking my ass in all of it’s glory. Unless I’m using the strenght potion, I mostly do 0 damage to him, and he keeps recovering health. That is a little annoying, so, I would recommend to try and balance that a little bit; maybe have the characters do a little more damage to make things faster? Increasing their damage by 5, in my opinion, would be enought to make things a little “faster” without overpowering them.
Still, a great game! Now, if you excuse me, it’s my time to kick a furry ass… and them… THE GIRL!

The “regular” battles will contain more options as I will add more shop items. In the village I will also add a training house where you can level up your strength 🙂
Also.. Play any decent RPG.. if you don’t need to level up to beat bosses, it’s a bad RPG mostly.. ^_^ didn’t take me too long to level up but then I am an RPG player..
I pledge to some projects on Patreon, but when I tried pledging to yours I couldn’t use my Paypal account. I never had that problem before??

And yes, I’m afraid that it’s not possible to use Paypal on NSFW projects on Patreon. I’ve received a few e-mails from people that had the same problem. It’s all due to Paypal’s pretty strict policy on adult content…
And what about Clickandbuy? Another service just like Paypal 🙂 How is their policy?
They are tricky.. Deutsche Telekom .. had a friend who worked for them but doesn’t now..
they claim to be MORE open to adult content but.. tricky.. like the bit about “will not process transactions which are related to goods or services, including an image, which is partly offensive and lacks serious artistic value”.. for some reason, a lot of erotica is seen as offensive ¬_¬;
Oh, there restrictions list includes Adult content. in fact, that list includes… most things.. boy, they seam worse then paypal.. more so then I thought from what I heard..

Okay, I can tell you the VERY reason why Paypal, and a lot of other money processors like them, do not allow adult content. And without being nasty, I can say that there will be atleast 2 or 3 people that will visit this site and WILL do what is the reason.
In the UK, I think the term is ‘refund’. But not in the nice way. For some reason, the adult industry is a lot more effected by this then others. People will join up a adult paysite (I guess the adult industry is more effected because there aren’t as many non-adult pay sites). They download all the content they can lay there sticky hands on, and then report fraud on the site. This fraud can be “I was told it was one thing, but it was not” or “My card details were stolen by them”, or whatever. So Paypal have to deal with it. Also known as ‘Chargeback’, this isn’t a free thing. To get the money back to the ‘customer’ and from the ‘service’, costs money and time and so adult content sites/services etc were deemed ‘high risk’. And anyone with half a brain knows that High Risk is something you don’t want to mess with. Sure, if you bet on a 1,000 to 1 horse, you have a MUCH higher return then a 10 to 1 but you have far less chance of winning.. about 5 years back now, Banks around the world were backing more and more high risk ventures believing they were smart enough to work it out. Sure, they put a lot into one high risk, but they did so many that one or two going down didn’t create a problem. Then three or four went down and.. well.. most people should know what happened. Banks have always done that kinda thing but it was getting too far out of hand (no bank EVER has all the money to pay even half of there customer base of them people came in and asked for it to be withdrawn).
a couple of UK companies decided to lend money to people who have a bad credit record (which mostly means they borrowed money and never gave it back).. they went under, making it harder for people.. and so on.
So.. because of people, and even more so with it leading to others running scared of, defrauding paysites and the like and stealing content, everyone is screwed in a bad way.
Did you know when Paypal first started, they made there money via adult content sites, eBay and Gambling? Adult sites and gambling were in fact, BIGGER returns and more money then eBay.. but even gambling is a iffy bit with them now..
Yeah…the dreaded Chargeback aka “the kid took my credit card and signed up on a porn website, give me my money back!” is pretty well known to the adult industry. Unfortunately, some people seem to think that doing a chargeback on an adult site isn’t so bad because “well, adult stuff is bad anyway, they shouldn’t be doing that dirty stuff!” (yep, I’ve heard people use this kind of reasoning… ^_^; )
That is also why Verotel ban users who play the “chargeback game”. I have had a handful of them on Ero-Mania too. There was once a guy who had signed up for 6 months and did a chargeback. He actually tried to sign up several times afterwards…
But luckily, I haven’t had many of these ^_^
what about “Well, they have no right to charge for this anyway”, or “They are a faceless company that don’t need the money”.
This is a great idea,i have been a loyal follower/stalker almost since the beginning of Vanjas World and are very happy to once again be able to support you (and Tomte) being able to do what you love and giving us amazing stuff in return.
I have a love for both comics,hentai and horror and is happy to see that my pledge now have you halfway to the “Weekly Darkheim” Milestone Goal. I liked the “demo” version the game ran smooth :)and I played every section fighting the “normal” enemies and the ,monsters/monster “cat” girl.
I hope that you and Tom keep this project going and for free (even tho it helps if people can donate a little to help you continue your work) I really liked the game and there are 16 comments so people seem interested.

When will the game be updated?
I don’t have any date for that yet. You can check the website for //www.monsterlovehotel.com, and Patreon supporters gets progress updates every now and then too.
Oh and one more question: will the update only be available to patreon supporters?
$5+ Patreon supporters will get the next game update 3-4 weeks before it’s made public. That means everyone will be able to get the updates anyway, but those of you who are supporting the game and thus making it possible for me to work on it, gets rewarded with a pre-release ^_^
